General Information

Q: What is 24/7 Supported Accommodation?
A: It’s a type of supported living where adults (18+) live in a safe, supervised environment with round-the-clock support staff. The focus is on helping individuals achieve independence while having immediate access to help at any time.

Q: Who is eligible for this service?
A: Adults aged 18+ with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, or those transitioning from hospitals, care homes, or unstable housing are typically eligible, subject to assessment.

Q: What type of support do residents receive daily?
A: Residents receive personal care, emotional support, medication reminders, cooking and cleaning help, and life skills coaching such as budgeting and community access.

Q: Do staff support residents with appointments or external services?
A: Yes, support workers help residents attend medical appointments, engage in community activities, apply for benefits, and communicate with external services such as mental health teams or GPs.

Q: What are the housing options like?
A: Residents are placed in shared or self-contained properties depending on needs. All homes are fully furnished, risk-assessed, and compliant with health and safety and housing regulations.

Q: Are meals and housekeeping included?
A: Support is provided with meal preparation and cleaning, but residents are encouraged to participate in daily tasks as part of developing independence. Meals are not catered but can be supported.

Q: Is staff support available at all times?
A: Yes. Our properties are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including waking night staff, ensuring residents always have someone on-site for emergencies and guidance.

Q: Are staff trained to manage complex behaviours?
A: Absolutely. All staff are trained in areas such as de-escalation, mental health first aid, autism awareness, safeguarding, and trauma-informed care.

Q: How can someone be referred to the accommodation?
A: Referrals can be made by local authorities, NHS professionals, social workers, case managers, or with family consent. We carry out a suitability and risk assessment before admission.

Q: How quickly can a placement be arranged?
A: In most cases, placements can be made within 24–72 hours of receiving all required documentation and completing the assessment, depending on availability.

Q: Will residents be encouraged to become more independent?
A: Yes — independence is a core goal. Support plans focus on empowering residents to develop skills for budgeting, cooking, self-care, and employment readiness.

Q: Can residents move on to less supported living?
A: Absolutely. Many of our residents transition to semi-independent or private tenancies once they’ve built enough confidence and life skills through our support system.
