Respite Care

You won't be left alone when your main carer is on a break!

Good respite care

Highly personalised respite care

At ICare Resource Limited our respite care service provides families with a tailored respite care service designed around your needs, making sure loved ones who require some additional support in the tasks of daily living to remain in the comfort of their own home whilst their main carer takes a break.

Our respite care service is a flexible care option enabling you to stay at home with support from a professional carer for as little as 1 hour a week through to multiple hours a day, or even sleepovers or waking nights.

Respite care enables you to continue to live the life how you want to, on your terms, providing support with anything from basic domestic support, companionship, personal care, medication help, through to support with more complex conditions such as dementia or Parkinson’s.

CQC regulated home care

Unlike introduction agencies we are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) giving you the peace of mind that the care and support we provide is regularly monitored, inspected and regulated by the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

At ICare Resource Limited, we have been rated Good and we know that this gives our clients and their families the comfort that they are receiving the best care service available.

Locally managed respite care

Our professional carers are matched to our clients to support them at home and we pride ourselves on delivering a highly personalised home care service underpinned by basic principles such as continuity of carer, introductions before care commences, minimum visits of 1 hour and a genuine focus on health and social well-being.

Our carers are fully employed by us and they undergo an extensive recruitment and selection process including interviews, reference checks and an Enhanced Criminal Record Check. They are also trained in all aspects of the care we deliver including specialist training for complex conditions

Respite care is a viable option when your regular carer is unavailable, perhaps because they need to take a scheduled break or maybe if they’ve been taken ill themselves. It could also be that you don’t usually require care at home but due to recovering from an illness, surgery or accident, you would appreciate some extra help to get you back on your feet. If you’ve been discharged from the hospital and require a short-term package of care at home then respite can be invaluable, and with care able to begin within 24 hours usually.

Our care management team also undertakes regular monitoring of the care we provide, including an initial review after the first 4-weeks, formal reviews at least every 6 months, annual feedback questionnaires and ongoing monitoring of any concerns, events or issues. We also invest a huge amount of time in training, supervising, developing and supporting our carers which is key to enabling them to provide the highest quality care.

What is Respite care?

Respite care is usually a short-term package of care from someone who isn’t your loved one’s regular carer. Respite care from ICare Resource Limited would take place in their own home and allow you, as their usual carer, time to rest and take care of yourself so you are better able to take care of them.

At ICare Resource Limited we understand that for you to provide the very best care to your loved one, you also need to take good care of yourself. Time to rest and recharge is essential, as is having someone you can trust look after your loved one.  Our reliable, compassionate carer are fully trained, giving you the peace of mind you need to take that much needed break.

Respite care FAQs

Our Respite Care service is flexible and is tailored to your individual needs. Our care options include:

  • Short-term packages – for example if you are looking to take a holiday
  • Longer-term regular visits – allowing you to take a regular break to rest and recharge such as a daily or weekly visit

If you’re looking at more regular support, we are trained to support and care for individuals with more complex needs in the comfort of their own homes. No matter your need get in touch with us today to find out how ICare Resource Limited can help you.

Taking care of a loved one or family member is challenging and emotionally and physically very draining. Knowing that you can take a short break from time to time can be a great incentive to keep you going. Or maybe you’ve got to go away unexpectedly and there’s no one else to take over your care-related duties? Whatever the reason, we’re here to help give you as much of a break as you need. Our kind and highly qualified carers can visit your loved one’s home to take over the caring you do, giving you time out whenever you need it.

You don’t necessarily need to have a long break to feel the benefit. Sometimes short respite breaks at regular intervals work well. An option could be one afternoon or evening every week so that you can unwind and enjoy some ‘me time’. Perhaps you would enjoy a monthly visit to the theatre, or to a health spa for a pampering session? Or maybe you need to attend an appointment, go away in an emergency, or just have a bit of time to catch-up on life admin you’ve not had time to deal with. Whatever your needs are, we are here to take the pressure off. We’re happy to be flexible and take the lead from you, responding to how you’re feeling and how your schedule is.
